Falls-It was a tale of two teams on Saturday, September 20, 2025 as the U13A
Ultimate Sales, West Nipissing Sting took on the Sudbury Wolves for their first
two pre-season games of the season.
Game 1 was all about speed and passing for
the Sting. The first period saw three beautiful Tic-Tac-Goals as Hunter Seguin
(Fox) scored twice, and Jaxen Beauparlant (Bazinet) would score his first of
the pre-season. The second would continue the same as the first with Jacob
Giguère (Mowatt) putting one in from the point while short handed. On the same
penalty kill Michael Fox would go end to end to make it 5-0 for the Sting. Ray
Mowatt (Beauparlant) and Noah Serré (Beaucage) would also score. The third period
was about preserving the shut out for Lawson Restoule. In the process Michael
Fox (Seguin), Jaxen Beauparlant, and
Hunter Seguin (Bazinet) would all score. After the dust settled, it was
10-0 for the Sting and a great start to the season. Penalties in the first game
came to: Bruno Lafond (Head Contact), Jase Vaillant (Tripping), Ray Mowatt
(Roughing) and Hunter Seguin (Holding the Stick).
After
winning the first game 10-0, the biggest danger for the Sting would be that
they would come out flat….that is exactly what they did. The Wolves looked like
they had something to prove on the second game, and the U13A Ultimate Sales
Sting looked like they thought the Wolves would roll over and play dead.
Sudbury jumped to a quick 2-0 lead over the Sting, but with a few minutes left
in the second Simon Bazinet made it 2-1 for the Wolves. Even being outworked,
Noah Serré (Z. Serré) would tie the game at the start of the third. 20 seconds
later the Wolves would regain their lead, and not look back. The final score
stood at 4-2 for the Wolves. Penalties for the Sting were: Emmitt Restoule
(Crosschecking), and Michael Fox (Head Contact).
